Body art: when the body becomes a means of artistic expression
Pole Dancing
The term Body Art was coined in the late 1960's to refer to a growing variety of peculiar practices stemming from what were originally visual artists. There are different styles of body art. The artist’s body is usually the main medium of the performances and the emphasis is put on the body gestures by which the art object is produced.

Pole Dancing with it's sensual hint, just like other kinds of dances, is a veritable art that places the emphasis on dancing around acrobatically on and off the pole. Pole dancing practisers deliver exceptional and impressive shows comparable to gymnastic or trapeze performances in which choreography and artistic presentation complement one another.
Pole dancing first started in America in the 1980's and now is getting into the mainstream as a “Body Art” and fitness craze all over the World.
